Our usual hangover standby is Mexican food. It's cheap, it's fast and it's greasy. Our favorite places to get in on this action are Mi Cocina, Chuy's and Rosita's. But I wanted to try a new place, so I suggested Mia's, which is just down the road from my apartment. Mia's is known for their badass brisket tacos, so Kevin had to order them and I ordered the brisket tacos. And queso. And guacamole. And then we ate until our little bellies couldn't stretch anymore. Uggff.

First course of the day
After lunch (and still no shower for either of us), we went back home and laid in bed for the next two hours. I had been dreaming of a cookie ice cream sandwich from Pokey O's for approximately 8 days so I made Kevin haul his happy ass back out of bed so we could go get one. By this time *just enough* room had shifted around in my tummy to cram a Pokey O in.
Following Pokey O's, we drove around Dallas so Kevin could show me some of the city I had never seen. I've lived here for 7 years now and I still haven't seen all that this cool city has to offer...places like Bluff View and Devonshire. The homes reminded me of some of the more unique homes you'll find in Park Cities, except without the arrogant fluff and stacked-on-top-of-each-other lots. The only downside is that it's DISD zoned, but I have no doubt that if you can afford a home here that you have the cash to send your mini-me's off to private school.
The food marathon didn't stop at Pokey O's, so don't get your spirits down people. We ended up cruising down to Inwood Theater to catch a movie. Keep in mind, it's now 4pm and we still haven't showered. Yummy, I bet we smelled like a bed of fresh roses. Of course you can't watch a move without popcorn. And movie popcorn isn't popcorn without a waterfall of butter and salt poured on top. So we laid our stinky selves on the couches (yes, couches...and Lovesacs!) and watched He's Just Not That Into You. Total chick flick to see with your girlfriends so you can all bitch about girl stuff later to one another.

Okay so far, we have brisket tacos, guacamole, queso, ice cream cookie sandwich and popcorn. Are you keeping tabs on calories? Because I sure wasn't. After a trip to the grocery store for weekly staples, Kevin spots Buffalo Wild Wings on Lemmon Ave on the way home. WE DON'T NEED ANYMORE FOOD is all I can think about. We didn't stop at BWW. But we stopped at Good Eats to get boneless buffalo bites that we DIDN'T need. Let me repeat that. We ordered more food that we did not need.
I've never felt so sick as I did on Sunday night. The last time I felt even as remotely sick was in 3rd grade, when I ate too many hot dogs and enchiladas at my friend Libby's house. I finally took a shower at 9pm and nearly barfed up an array of food textures while shampooing my hair.
I gained four pounds that day. FOUR. Thankfully it was temporary and it's all come off, but scary nonetheless. Next time we have a day like this, I'm fasting for a week beforehand to prepare.
Anyone else out there had a day like this? Comments are open!
