Up and back in 24 hours

Candace Dee Hutto, one of my best friends since as long as I can remember, is getting married on November 15 to Curtis Norrod, a great guy who will be a wonderful husband. I felt blessed to be chosen as her maid of honor, and so I - and the matron of honor (who regretfully couldn't make the trip) - threw a bachelorette party for Mrs. Soon to Be Norrod.

Megan Barrett, another childhood Muleshoe girlfriend of mine who now lives in Dallas, and I finally left around 9:45 Saturday morning...45 minutes late, but whatever...we needed our damn coffee. OH - and an 1-20 tip - I highly suggest staying away from the Schlotzsky's in Sweetwater unless you like your sandwiches to have black hairs in them...yeah, gross. I thought about taking a picture for my blog, but my better judgment told me it was a bad idea for my audience. You're welcome.

The pre-party started at 5pm at one of our girlfriend's house, which included frozen booze drinks and naughty presents for the bride. Candace's faces were just priceless as she opened her gifts, as she is not a girly girl at all!

I don't think she knew which way was "up"

We went to Abuelo's after the pre-party for appetizers before heading to Louie Louie's, Lubbock's new piano bar. Think Pete's in Addison. Why do all piano bars play the same routine, but with different fight song battles?? It was still a blast though, and we got Candace up on stage for a very very embarrassing routine

A few more pictures of the girls from MHS...

Mindy was so nice to offer up her house for the party!

Blonde bombshells right there

Although Sunday morning was a bitch with bad Whataburger breath and no chances for mimosas, Megan and I had a nice drive back that included passing my parents on the interstate! Next time though, I think I'll fly.
